Part of the projects are focused on the study of astrocytes and particularly astrocyte-neuron communication in Rett syndrome, considering the importance of both cell- and non cell-autonomous mechanisms in the disease. Specifically, we are interest to study the molecular mechanisms by which RTT astrocytes induce synaptic alterations in neurons, with the final aim to identify novel therapeutic targets.
