The objective of WP2 is to generate a bacterial biosensor to monitor the dynamics of activation of PCB degradation pathways in bacteria upon stimulation by plant root exudates. The data will be generated through approaches of molecular biology to generate the fusion between the putative promoter of the degradative operon and a fluorescent reporter; of cellular biology to transform the recipient strain with the obtained expression cassette and of microbiology to evaluate the biosensor sensitivity.
